Most people know snoring is a very common problem which can lead to many restless nights of the bed partner of a snorer. However, fewer people know that snoring is often a sign of a very serious condition called Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA). Sleep Apnea is a condition which your airway becomes blocked while you are sleeping causing you to stop breathing. While suffering these beathless episodes, your body is starved of oxygen which has negative effects on all aspects of your health.

Find out if you or a loved one are suffering from Sleep Apnea with a consultation with your physician and a sleep study.

We can help treat this condition with oral appliance therapy if you have trouble with or cannot wear a CPAP mask while sleeping.

Treating Sleep Apnea and Snoring with Oral Appliance Therapy

Our goal in treating Sleep Apnea is keeping your airway open. The most common cause of an airway blockage is the tongue being crowded backwards. With Oral Appliance Therapy, we can position your lower jaw forward giving your tongue the space it needs keeping your airway open.

How Sleep Apnea Might be Affecting You

When suffering from Sleep Apnea, your body is starved of oxygen from a minimum of 10 seconds to typically much longer periods. During normal sleep, your body and mind have a chance to rest and repair from a days work, however sleep apnea robs your body of its chance to rest and repair which has detrimental effects on many aspects of your overall health.

Conditions Effected by Obstructive Sleep Apnea

Hypertension (High Blood Pressure)
Coronary Artery Disease
Stroke
Depression
Anxiety
Cardiac Arrhythmias
Congestive Heart Disease
Diabetes
Obesity
Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)
Sexual Dysfunction

Was my first time at Lakeshore and was very impressed by their professionalism and attention to my comfort. I had been waiting almost a year to get a broken tooth repaired but my appointment kept getting cancelled and moved out. I decided to see if I could get in to see Dr Ryan an it was definitely one of my better ideas. My teeth are now clean and Stacy was extremely patient with making my back comfortable and allowing me plenty of breaks to swallow and was very gentle with my mouth. I have an appointment for my crown and root canal in a week or so. I really should of gone in there alot sooner. When it comes to dental work ii admit I'm a big baby and don't like change but this change was excellent, it's almost bed time and I'm amazed my mouth isn't hurting from a cleaning and this cleaning was overdue!! Thanks for making me feel welcome and allowing me to join your "Lakeshore family"

Great experience. New patient. I'm not a fan of dentist offices (child of the 80s with bad dentist office childhood baggage), but these folks are good people and I like what I've experienced so far. Lastly, I didn't feel judged for not having found a new dentist almost 2 years after moving into town. That's huge for me.

I had a bad experience with this dental office. Went in for a tooth removal, which the dentist took out in 30 seconds with his fingers. Then, he charged me $1200, which i paid. I was never informed of what the cost would be until I received the bill. When I reached out to their office to address my concerns, they told me that they charge every customer the same prices per insurance, but I didn't use insurance, paid out of pocket. Although not everyone needs the same amount of attentiveness for their care. Absolutely, I do not recommend this place. Their priority is the dollars when it should be the customer. T. Mccarty

This is the best dental place that I’ve ever been to. The atmosphere is cozy and every staff member was so inviting and helpful with everything that I needed. I highly recommend this business! Would rate 1 million stars if I could.

Before I came to Lakeshore Family, I went to the same dentist for over 10 years. Being new to the area, I wanted to find something closer to where I lived. Needless to say I was nervous! First, shout out to Kaelynn who recommended this place. Second, I would like to commend Amy and Dr Lauren because they were so sweet and so honest. They were both super helpful, honest, and just a pleasure to be around. Thank you for an honest experience and an awesome one!
